Tare Weight
Tare weight, also known as unladen weight, is the total weight of a tractor and trailer when the vehicle is empty. It is determined by subtracting the net weight of the goods from the gross weight (laden weight) of the container.
The tare weight is usually printed on an intermodal container to ensure the computation of the gross weight is calculated accurately when loading the equipment.
