After a notable improvement in demand for air cargo towards the end of 2020 following poor performance throughout the year, the air cargo industry reached pre-COVID-19 levels in January 2021. According to a report released by the International Air Transport Association (IATA) on March 2, 2021, data taken from global air cargo markets shows that the demand for shipping freight by air has returned to pre COVID-19 levels.

The Sittwe deep-water port off the west coast of Myanmar, a part of the $484 million Kaladan multimodal project constructed by India, is now ready for operation, Union shipping minister Mansukh Mandaviya said. The project aims to reduce the cost and time for transporting goods, including essentials, to landlocked Mizoram.

The Food Safety and Standards Authority of India is doing commendable work regarding securing food safety. Among the various initiatives by the Authority in recent times is FoSCoS that aims at easing the licensing and registration procedure for Food Business Operators. The Authority is also making relentless efforts to update the standards to international levels, improve food testing by setting up new labs and upgrading workforce and other resources, focusing on ease of doing business for FBOs.

DGTR | Temporary changes in the Trade Remedy investigation processes due to COVID-19 pandemic

Reference is invited to Trade Notice No. 01/2020 dated 10th April 2020, further extended by Trade Notice No. 03/2020 dated 9th July 2020 and Trade Notice No.03/2020 dated 6" October 2020 regarding temporary changes in the trade remedy investigation processes because of Covid-19 pandemic. The validity of the said Trade Notice is hereby extended until further orders.

In regards to Customs Tariff Act, 1975, as amended from time to time, Customs Tariff (identification assessment and collection of countervailing duty on subsidized articles and determination of injury) Rules, 1995, as amended from time to time, the Designated Authority makes some correction in the Final notification issued vide notification No. 06/13/2019- DGTR dated 11th December 2020, in regards to the anti-subsidy investigation.
